                                Reservation, Deposit and Donation

Reunion 2009 planning has essentially been completed. The accompanying reservation and calendar of events should give you an idea of all that is planned and what you can expect. This 2009 edition looks to be the equal of our initial 2007 reunion.

We’d like to ensure the success of the 2009 reunion and need your attendance. At this time all you need to do is reserve your position by completing the attached Reservation and forwarding a $50/ person deposit to our Treasurer, Marty Hime.

The “West Coast Host Committee” headed by Mike West have added new events including a Mess Night/Dining In with spouses or guest and a golf tourney for both the serious  (scramble format) and “not-so-serious” golfers (par 3, 9 holes). We plan trips to both MCAS Miramar and MCRD San Diego. At each stop we’ll enjoy lunch and have a chance to view some of the latest aircraft and an MCDR graduation.

As in 2007, we’ll take time out to honor our classmates who were killed in combat or have passed away. Our own Chaplin Larry Van Spriell will again lead the memorial service. If you were at the “Wall” in DC you’ll understand how much this meant to us all and how much Larry added to the service.

We have slowed down the pace a bit and spread out the Reunion events to allow ample free time to mix, tell stories (a few tall ones), and enjoy each others company and the City of San Diego.

At this time, we need you to step up and reserve your place and send a deposit. As always we need some donations to help with those who might need help, including expenses for any widows who will join us. Donations are also in lieu of dues to help cover the expenses of the Association, which is now a 501 c.3 non profit, so your donation is tax deductible.
